IFC Films and Shudder have shared the Dangerous Animals teaser trailer for its upcoming horror thriller starring The Suicide Squad’s Jai Courtney. The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 6, 2025.
“When Zephyr, a rebellious surfer, is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer and held captive on his boat, she must figure out how to escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below,” reads the official synopsis.

What happens in the Dangerous Animals trailer?
The video features Courtney as he plays a psychotic serial killer who uses hungry sharks to kill and torture his victims. The teaser also previews how many people he has already murdered by showing off the hair samples and videotapes he has collected from each of his kills.
Dangerous Animals is directed by Sean Byrne from a screenplay written by Nick Lepard. The cast also includes Hassie Harrison, Josh Heuston, Rob Carlton, Ella Newton, James Munn, Michael Goldman, Jon Quested, Liam Greinke, and more. The film is executive produced by Fred Berger, Michael Glassman, Mehrdod Heydari, Marlaina Mah, Jacob Yakob, and Joseph Yakob. Producers are Chris Ferguson, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Mickey Liddell, Troy Lum, Andrew Mason, and Pete Shilaimon.
Courtney most recently starred in Netflix’s Western action drama American Primeval with Taylor Kitsch and Betty Gilpin. He will next be seen in the crime drama movie Beef with Timothy Olyphant and in the sci-fi action thriller War Machine with Alan Ritchson and Dennis Quaid.
