Singer Sia has reportedly filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Dan Bernad, marking the end of their private marriage. While the couple kept their relationship largely out of the spotlight, the divorce filing has surprised fans, especially with the unexpected revelation that they share a child together.

According to PEOPLE, Sia has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Dan Bernad, after two years of marriage. As per the court documents, the Australian singer-songwriter cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The filing also revealed that Sia quietly became a mother again, welcoming a baby named Somersault Wonder Bernad on March 27, 2024.
As part of the divorce proceedings, Sia is seeking full legal and physical custody of their child but has stated that Bernad can have visitation rights. Additionally, she has requested that the court not grant spousal support to her estranged husband.
The couple’s relationship has largely remained out of the public eye. They legally married in December 2022 and later held a private ceremony in Portofino, Italy, in May 2023, with only six guests present. Prior to her marriage to Bernad, Sia was married to filmmaker Erik Anders Lang.
While the details of their relationship remain mostly unknown, Sia’s personal life has occasionally made headlines. In 2019, she adopted two teenage boys out of the foster care system.
She said in a 2020 interview with InStyle, ”I just felt so blessed to have them both with me. And I’ve realized over the past year that Che was meant to be my son, too.” Now, the revelation of her newborn has come as a surprise to fans, as she never publicly announced her pregnancy or the birth of her child.
As of now, neither Sia nor Bernad has publicly addressed the divorce.
