Playboi Carti Responds to Kanye West’s Twitter (X) Rant

Are you wondering whether Playboi Carti’s latest move has put him at odds with Kanye West? After Carti asked Kim Kardashian about collaborating with North West, Kanye reacted swiftly, sparking speculation about tension between them. Their history of collaborations and conflicts raises questions about their current relationship.

Here’s a closer look at Carti’s request, Kanye’s response, and how this public back-and-forth is shaping their dynamic.

How did Playboi Carti respond to Kanye West’s tweets?

Playboi Carti responded to Kanye West’s criticism with a direct post on X, formerly Twitter.

On March 19, he wrote, “YE, STFU,” after Kanye publicly called him out for requesting a collaboration with Kim Kardashian and their daughter North West. Carti’s response came a day after he had posted an Instagram Story saying, “TELL ME[sic] NIECE NORTH SEND ME A SONG,” which Kim Kardashian reshared.

Kanye West reacted by mocking Playboi Carti on X, referencing their past collaborations. He wrote, “HEY NORTH YOUR DAD GAVE ME MY BIGGEST SONG AND CO SIGN AND I LEFT HIM OFF OF MY ALBUM BECAUSE OF HIS TWEETS OH BUT NORTH YOU MY NIECE I GOTTA USE YOUR VOCALS.” Later, he added, “I HELD MY TONGUE ABOUT MOT[sic] BEING ON CARTI ALBUM HIM GOING TO MY EX TO ASK MY DAUGHTER TO BE ON A SONG 2 DAYS LATER WAS TOO FAR NOBODY FINNA PLAY WITH ME.”

Carti’s request for North West to contribute vocals came after Kanye released a song featuring his daughter. On March 18, West dropped Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine with Sean “Diddy” Combs, King Combs, and North West. He shared the four-minute, 44-second track in a post with a black screen.

A recorded phone call captured Diddy Combs, who remains detained in New York on federal charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, speaking to Kanye West. In a post shared by The Shade Room, Combs told West, “This s*** is wicked, wicked, wicked. So you be careful,” adding, “When I get out there, man, I want to see you f***ing tear down the stadiums.” Kanye responded, “Yeah, it’s time for me to grab the mic and get back [out there]. I love music again” (via The Independent).
