Glen Powell has been cast in a sci-fi movie titled The Natural Order.
The Natural Order is a new movie from Universal Pictures that is based on a forthcoming novel written by Matt Aldrich. Barry Jenkins, who recently helmed Mufasa: The Lion King for Disney, will direct the film.
Plot details for the movie remain under wraps at this time; however, Deadline says that “the pitch has been billed as an elevated sci-fi thriller revolving around the pursuit of eternal life.”
Powell was most recently seen playing Tyler Owens in the sequel to Twister, Twisters, which was released in 2024. Earlier in his career, he starred in movies such as 2003’s Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises, 2014’s The Expendables 3, 2016’s Everybody Wants Some!!, and 2016’s Hidden Figures.
Powell became a household name after appearing alongside Tom Cruise in 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick. He then went on to star in 2023’s Anyone but You and 2023’s Hit Man. Powell will soon be seen in Edgar Wright’s remake of The Running Man, which is scheduled to be released this year, as well as John Patton Ford’s Huntington, which does not yet have a release date.
Additionally, he’s playing the titular role in Hulu’s Chad Powers series, which also does not have a release date at this time but is expected to arrive this coming fall.
