Seth Rollins, husband of former Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch, recently shared a major update on her WWE status. Lynch has been absent from WWE TV since May 2024, when she lost to Liv Morgan in a Steel Cage Match for the WWE Women’s World Championship on RAW. Morgan won the match after Dominik Mysterio interfered, keeping Lynch out of action ever since.
Following her loss, Becky Lynch posted a cryptic message that fueled speculation about her retirement. Liv Morgan repeatedly claimed that she had retired Lynch from wrestling, adding to the rumors.
Fans expected Lynch to make her return at the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 after nearly ten months away. However, instead of Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss made their returns, with Flair ultimately winning the match.
Reports confirmed that Lynch signed a new contract after her previous deal expired following her last match. WWE reportedly plans to involve her in WrestleMania 41. Seth Rollins addressed the speculation amid these rumors, shutting down retirement talks and hinting at her comeback.
Seth Rollins breaks silence on Becky Lynch’s future in WWE
During his recent appearance on WFAN, Seth Rollins was asked about Becky Lynch’s WWE status and when she plans to return. He confirmed that Lynch remains active and has no plans to retire.
He stated, “She took a few months off, she did some television and film projects, and so she’s gearing up to get ready to come back. Don’t know when that’s going to happen just yet, but I mean, she is active, yes, that I will say. She has not retired, she’s not mentioned anything about retirement, there are future plans for her in professional wrestling.”
With Rollins confirming her status and WrestleMania 41 approaching, it is only a matter of time before Lynch returns to WWE. Notably, back in November last year, she denied retirement rumors.
