A Quiet Place 3 has received an official update from franchise producer Brad Fuller.
A Quiet Place, now arguably considered one of the best horror franchises in modern cinema, has garnered a massive followings since its debut in theaters back in 2018. The post-apocalyptic horror movie follows a family living in a world wherein a little sound could jeopardize their safety.
Due to the film’s critical success, it received a second installment called A Quiet Place Part II in 2020 and a prequel in 2024 called A Quiet Place: Day One. Now, despite significant delays, an official third film focusing on Emily Blunt’s character in the first two movies is still in development.
What is the latest A Quiet Place 3 update?
While promoting his upcoming film, The Astronaut, at SXSW, Fuller confirmed in an interview with The Direct that the Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn-led prequel film, A Quiet Place: Day One is not considered the third part in Blunt’s horror franchise. He then revealed that they are starting to work on a proper threequel.
“So, ‘Day One’ is not ‘A Quiet Place 3,’ just to be clear . . . ‘A Quiet Place 3,’ we’re starting to put it together right now. You know, when we made the first one, John [Krasinski] didn’t have a lot on his plate. He had just come off ‘The Office,’ and he wanted to be a director,” Fuller told the outlet.
The third part, first announced in 2022, has been in development for quite some time. However, according to Fuller, star and director John Krasinski’s busy schedule was a contributing factor in its delay.
Fuller continued, “Now, he’s so in demand, and it’s hard to get him… He’s making a movie now, so as soon as he finishes that, hopefully, he will turn his attention to [‘A Quiet Place 3’]. We all want to finish that trilogy, and I’m hopeful there’s even more ‘Quiet Place’ movies beyond that.”
Other information about the third film, including the plot details, has yet to be announced.
