During the March 7, 2025, episode of the Behind the Table podcast, Behar made a few statements that hinted at retirement. However, she was quick to clarify that it wouldn’t be happening soon.
Behar had a candid conversation with podcast host Brian Teta, the executive producer of The View. At one point, they discussed the moment when Behar and co-host Whoopi Goldberg walked off the set together. Recalling the incident, Behar said, “I felt like the chair was propelling my tuckus right up. And then Whoopi followed me because we’re in solidarity. It’s my greatest moment on the show. And when I leave this show, I want you to include that in my package.”
Her comments may have sparked speculation, but for now, Behar remains a key part of The View.
Addressing the last line of the statement, Teta enquired whether it was a hint at a possible retirement. Behar then asserted, “When I do. Everybody leaves eventually. Even you will leave eventually.” To put the listeners at ease, Teta urged for a clarification one again asking, “But there’s no plans for you to go anywhere at the moment?” Much to the relief of the fans, Behar confirmed with a resounding “No,” albeit after a pause.
Additionally, Behar had previously addressed the topic of her retirement in 2022. In an interview with People that year, Behar had stated, “I have no plans to retire. Sometimes I don’t believe that, as I’ve been here since the beginning, but we’re the most-watched show in daytime. Most-watched! I’m happy to be a part of it. So, no, I’m not going anywhere. I’m having a good time.”
