The Con Man star’s life has taken a new turn as a former employee accused him of ‘toxic positivity’ at Wayfarer Studios. This claim emerged amid Justin Baldoni’s ongoing lawsuit with It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively, sparking curiosity about the workplace culture at his production company.
Here’s a breakdown of the recent allegations and Baldoni’s response.
Former employee accuses Justin Baldoni of ‘toxic positivity’
An ex-employee at Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios alleged his leadership style, calling it “toxic positivity.”
The Los Angeles Times published these claims on Wednesday, quoting the ex-employee as saying that Baldoni’s cheerful demeanor seemed insincere. “It was constant positivity all the time — I would say toxic positivity. I’m always a little dubious of people who advertise themselves as disruptors of the status quo or quote-unquote ‘good people.’ It felt phony,” the ex-employee told the outlet.
A few other ex-employees also claimed that Baldoni promoted his Bahai faith at work, making some of them uncomfortable.
However, not all former staff members shared this sentiment. Melissa Ames, Baldoni’s ex-personal and executive assistant, defended him, stating, “He is highly creative and in tune with his spiritual side. He has a heart for helping others. Working at Wayfarer was one of the best times of my life.”
Following these accusations, a Wayfarer Studios spokesperson denied any workplace misconduct. In a statement, they clarified, saying, “There have never been any reported complaints regarding the workplace culture, or any communicated issues regarding the platforms of its founders.”
The spokesperson also emphasized that any employee guidance was meant to maintain professionalism and align with the company’s ethos. (via The New York Post)
While Baldoni faces workplace allegations, his legal feud with Blake Lively continues to remain in the spotlight. Lively filed the lawsuit in December, accusing Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and workplace retaliation. Denying the allegations, Baldoni countersued in January, alleging defamation and extortion. He named Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist in his case. Both parties refused court mediation, setting the stage for a high-profile trial in March 2026.
