Hulk Hogan Reveals What He Thinks About John Cena Turning Heel

Hulk Hogan praised John Cena’s shocking heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber: Toronto, calling it one of the best in years. Like Cena, Hogan was also a great babyface in the 1980s and 1990s and was recognized as one of the most beloved stars of his time.

In 1996, at WCW Bash at the Beach, Hogan shook the wrestling world by turning heel and joining the infamous NWO faction. His transformation generated massive buzz and helped WCW dominate WWE for 83 straight weeks in TV ratings.

At Elimination Chamber: Toronto, Cena, who had remained a babyface for two decades, finally embraced his darker side, shocking fans. The fans had demanded a Cena heel turn for years, but many believed he would never make the move, especially in the final year of his wrestling career.

However, fans were stunned when John Cena finally embraced his heel persona. He aligns himself with The Rock. Cena, alongside The Rock and Travis Scott, brutally beat down Cody Rhodes, leaving him bloodied. WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan later shared his thoughts on Cena’s turn, calling it one of the best heel turns in recent years.

Hulk Hogan shared his thoughts on John Cena’s shocking heel turn during an interview with Justin Barrasso on Undisputed. He stated, “Well, we definitely can see Cena now, can’t we? We know who he is now. He’s not signing autographs or doing what he’s been doing. That’s bigger than a wrestling angle. It’s one of the best heel turns I’ve seen in a long, long time.”

He continued, “All the major players were involved. I can’t say enough about The Rock, too – he was incredible. They did it right, I’ll tell you that. It’s going to work as long as John wants to stay plugged in. I don’t know his schedule or how many days he’ll work, but he definitely has everyone’s attention. Plus, The Rock is involved, too. This could heat up more than anyone is expecting. It could be so hot that it’s crazy, which will lead to a WrestleMania match you’ll never forget.” [H/T: Wrestletalk]

Cena, who has aligned himself with The Final Boss, The Rock, is set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Title at WrestleMania 41.
