Six new actors have joined the cast of The Last of Us Season 2.
The Last of Us Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on HBO next month. Pedro Pascal will reprise his role as Joel in the show’s new season, while Bella Ramsey is also returning as Ellie.
Who has joined the cast of The Last of Us Season 2?
Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos, The Matrix), Alanna Ubach (Euphoria), Ben Ahlers (The Gilded Age), Hettienne Park (Hannibal), Robert John Burke (Gossip Girl, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), and Noah Lamanna (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) have all joined the cast of The Last of Us Season 2.
Pantoliano will be playing Eugene in The Last of Us Season 2. While Eugene is only a minor character who is only seen in a photograph in The Last of Us Part II video game, the role will be expanded in the television show in a manner “similar to the Emmy-winning Bill and Frank stand-alone episode from Season 1.”
“I get excited when I see these opportunities,” Neil Druckmann, who co-created both the game and the show, told Variety. “I’m like, ‘Oh, I don’t know Eugene that well!’ The story we told [in the game] was somewhat superficial. The way this character comes in really gets to the heart of Joel and Ellie and their relationship.”
Burke, meanwhile, is playing a bar owner named Seth, while Lamanna plays Kat, who dated Ellie prior to the events of The Last of Us Part II.
Ubach, Ahlers, and Park are all playing new characters who weren’t in the games. Ubach is playing someone named Hanrahan, while Ahlers has been cast as a character named Burton and Aprk as Elise Park.
The cast of The Last of Us Season 2 also includes Kaitlyn Dever, Young Mazino, Danny Ramirez, Catherine O’Hara, Jeffery Wright, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, and Spencer Lord.
The Last of Us Season 2 will premiere on HBO on April 13, 2025.
