Today’s NYT Mini Crossword was relatively straightforward, though we did struggle a bit trying to figure out 6A before the answer came to us while solving other components of the puzzle. The circle in the puzzle caused confusion at the start, but as we progressed through the puzzle, it became increasingly apparent that it was leading to something fun. After completing the puzzle, we admittedly tried to read the circled letters from left to right and were still confused. However, we eventually figured out how it was meant to be read. The circled letters spell out the word “USHAPED”, as in U-shaped, denoting the pattern formed by the circles in the puzzle.
