Why Brooke & Jubal’s Jubal Fresh left the hit radio show
Brooke & Jubal’s Jubal Fresh left the hit radio show after getting fired (The Direct). It all started when Fresh was absent from the radio airwaves for several months, and rebroadcasts began in January 2020.
Further, in April 2020, fans were in for a shock when Fresh’s departure from Brooke & Jubal was announced. It was revealed that he was fired, as Hubbard Broadcasting decided to let him go. The broadcast was launching a new show, but fans remained adamant in wanting to know the reason behind Fresh’s sudden exit.
Soon, Fresh decided to file a case against Hubbard for his unfair termination. In the suit, he addressed his departure. He mentioned that although the organization sent him a letter saying he was fired due to “inappropriate, unprofessional, offensive, and insubordinate conduct,” the real reason behind his termination was something else. He stated that the broadcaster decided to let him go as they were not willing to pay his salary after a crisis in advertising money due to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic (via Radio Insight).
The radio jockey opened up about his exit on his Fresh Till Death podcast. He stated, “Obviously, if you are paying attention and you are asking the question, you know that something is different. The specifics of things will [come out] when I feel it is appropriate. And when I feel like it is okay to discuss, I will discuss everything.”
Following Fresh’s exit, Brooke & Jubal came to an end. The producer, Jeffrey Dubow, took over Fresh’s role with the show rebranded as Brooke & Jeffrey in the Morning (via Inside Radio). On the other hand, Fresh lost the lawsuit and is currently hosting a new show titled The Jubal Show.
