Brandon Sklenar chooses a side in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s controversy
Brandon Sklenar has addressed the controversy between his It Ends With Us co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. During an interview on CBS Mornings, Sklenar was asked whether he supported Lively or Baldoni amid their legal battle. The actor chose not to take sides publicly. Laughing, he responded, “I’m Team It Ends With Us.”
Sklenar noted that the message that It Ends With Us was trying to deliver should remain the focus. He said, “I just want people to remember why we made the movie in the first place and what it stands for, and just keeping the focus on that.”
He also shared that the story had a personal impact. This is because someone close to him had gone through experiences similar to Lively’s character, Lily. Sklenar explained, “It was one of the reasons that me doing the movie gave her the strength to change her life.” The actor further expressed disappointment that the film’s meaning had been overshadowed by controversy.
The legal drama started when Lively filed a sexual harassment complaint against Baldoni in December 2024. She alleged misconduct during filming and a retaliatory smear campaign against her. Baldoni has denied the claims and responded with a lawsuit in January 2025, accusing Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and others of defamation and civil extortion.
Although Sklenar remained neutral in his interview, he had previously shown support for Lively. In December 2024, he shared a link to Lively’s on Instagram and urged viewers to go through it.
