Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock gets the spotlight in new Daredevil: Born Again TV Spot

Marvel Studios released a new Daredevil: Born Again TV spot, highlighting Matt Murdock’s life as a lawyer before shifting to his vigilante persona. Mayor Wilson Fisk states, “Vigilantes are NOT heroes,” as he campaigns against street-level crimefighters. The footage includes scenes of Daredevil swinging through Hell’s Kitchen using his billy clubs, a visual not previously seen in the Netflix series.

Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio discussed their characters’ evolving conflict in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Cox stated, “I believe you have to be really careful when and how you bring these two people into the same room because we have to feel like when they meet, it is an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object” (via Entertainment Weekly).

He added, “There’s actually an episode later on in the season where in an original draft we had a conversation, and I brought this up. I said, ‘I worry that if you tell the story that we can have a conversation and walk away from it at this stage, we lose a lot of stakes.'”

D’Onofrio described Fisk’s journey as a pursuit of greater power, saying, “Anything on our show is, nine out of 10 times, leading to something that’s even bigger and crazier. For Fisk, this journey is a path to more control.”

The villain Muse created the graffiti that inspired the “Born Again” title, capturing Fisk’s attention. The preview showcases The Punisher’s skull logo and features White Tiger and Bullseye in action.

Cox shared, “I feel rejuvenated and lucky and blessed that I’m still being given the opportunity to play this character.” He continued, “It would be interesting to know what gives up first, Marvel’s faith in us or our bodies!”

The first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again premiere on Disney+ on March 4, 2025.
