WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker attended Super Bowl LIX this past weekend at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The game saw the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 on February 9, 2025.
The event generated major buzz, from Kendrick Lamar’s electrifying performance to Taylor Swift receiving unexpected boos. However, one of the biggest talking points from the pro-wrestling world involved The Undertaker. He was spotted at the game with former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
Vince McMahon has faced serious allegations in recent years. However, The Undertaker chose to appear publicly with McMahon despite the ongoing controversies, which raised questions. The Deadman acknowledged the potential backlash but stood by his decision. He defended attending the game with McMahon, emphasizing their long-standing relationship.
The Undertaker defends attending Super Bowl LIX with Vince McMahon
On Busted Open Radio, The Undertaker explained his decision to attend Super Bowl LIX with Vince McMahon. He stated, “I was his guest, yeah. Look, I’m gonna get hate for that. People are like, ‘Oh you guys were so close, you know what happened,’ I’m like ‘I don’t know what hasn’t been done, we don’t talk about those things.’ But he is a friend of mine. First off, he gave me an opportunity to make something of my life and become something. Through the course of all of those years, we became friends. After my father passed away, he was a father figure, he was a brother, he was a mentor.”
Addressing the ongoing controversies, The Undertaker stated that he was not in a position to judge McMahon’s actions. He stated, “There’s only one judge, that’s the man upstairs. He’s gonna give us all whatever we deserve in the end, and that’s what it is. I think people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones… I don’t have to agree with everything that people do, but it doesn’t change the fact that I love somebody, and I’m friends with somebody.” (via WrestlingInc)
The Undertaker has remained loyal to Vince McMahon for many decades, supporting him even during the Monday Night War with WCW in the 1990s. Their strong connection shows how close they are, and as The Undertaker mentioned, McMahon was like a father figure to him.
