Joseph Quinn, who will play Johnny Storm, AKA Human Torch in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, recently revealed he would want Charlie Heaton as Wolverine in the MCU. Marvel Studios’ X-Men reboot was announced by Kevin Feige in November 2024. He disclosed that following the conclusion of Avengers: Secret Wars, the age of mutants will start in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Joseph Quinn thinks Stranger Things’ Charlie Heaton could be a great Wolverine
The Gladiator II actor is all set to appear as Human Torch in Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four reboot, set to release in July 2025.
Recently, Joseph Quinn was present at 2025 MegaCon Orlando, where he talked about the actor he would want as Wolverine in the MCU. When he was asked to comment on the rumor of his Stranger Things co-star Sadie Sink being considered for Jean Grey, he said, “Maybe Charlie [Heaton] as Wolverine.”
Heaton and Quinn have also worked together on Stranger Things. The former is best known for playing Jonathan Byers, Will Byers’ older brother in the Netflix series. Albeit, Heaton is not new to the X-Men universe. The actor was a part of the 2020 film The New Mutants, which is a spin-off of the X-Men film series.
Meanwhile, details regarding who will play Wolverine in Marvel Studios’ Mutant Saga is a big mystery for many fans as of writing. While Hugh Jackman reprised his role in the 2024 movie Deadpool & Wolverine, the studio hasn’t provided any confirmation on his future in the MCU.
As covered by SuperHeroHype before, the rumors of Sadie Sink being a top candidate to play Jean Grey in the untitled X-Men film have been around for a while. Industry scooper Jeff Sneider stated, “I’m hearing that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is being eyed to play Jean Grey in the Marvel Cinematic Universal. Kevin Feige soon plans to introduce a new iteration of the X-Men.” However, these are just rumors and nothing has been confirmed.
