Judd Apatow calls out Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni at DGA Awards

Judd Apatow took a jab at Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s ongoing legal battle while hosting the 77th Annual DGA Awards. During his monologue, the filmmaker made a pointed remark about the It Ends with Us controversy, drawing laughter from the audience.

Referencing the high-profile lawsuits, Apatow joked, “I loved Wicked. I saw it four times in the first four days. It was the highest-grossing movie musical of all time. Do you know that? Usually, to make that much money, you have to sue Blake Lively.” He later also dismissed the film and said, “So much hazarai (junk) over such a terrible movie.” (via People)

Notably, Lively filed a sexual harassment complaint against Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of misconduct and claiming he led a smear campaign to damage her reputation. In response, Baldoni launched a $400 million countersuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloane, alleging defamation and extortion.

The legal dispute escalated further when publicist Jed Wallace sued Lively for defamation, denying involvement in any smear campaign. Lively’s legal team has pushed back against the claims, calling them baseless attempts to silence her. Recently, a judge also warned both sides to keep the case out of the public eye before the trial, which is scheduled to be held in March 2026.
