With Taskmaster noticeably missing from Thunderbolts* Super Bowl Trailer, fans are curious to know the reason behind her limited screen time. The upcoming 36th film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is arriving this year. It is all set to release on May 2, 2025, and will be concluding MCU’s Phase Five.
Here’s everything we know about why Taskmaster rarely appears in the trailer of Thunderbolts*.
Why Taskmaster was mostly missing from the Thunderbolts* trailer
Taskmaster’s scarce appearance in Thunderbolts* trailer can be traced back to a popular fan theory that suggest that she might die.
Marvel Entertainment has recently dropped the official trailer of the highly anticipated MCU offering, Thunderbolts*. Fans have noticed that Antonia Dreykov aka Taskmaster, played by Olga Kurylenko, have rarely made an appearance in it. Many believe that her noticeable absence is due to the fact that she might not make it till the end of the movie.
Fans have poured in their speculations and theories regarding the movie. One of them states that The Sentry/The Void, played by Lewis Pullman, will kill Taskmaster at the very first half of the movie. The trailer gives us a glimpse into how powerful Robert “Bob” Reynolds’ The Void is going to be in the movie. This might explain why she didn’t enjoy much screen time in the trailer. The only time we see her in the video is when the titular team meet up at the Stark Tower, which is now under the ownership of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina.
However, readers must note that these are just fans speculations and the plot details of the movie is still under wraps. Neither the studio or Kurylenko have made any comments regarding the matter.
Directed by Jake Schreier, the movie features a stellar cast with many reprising their roles from the previous MCU movies. Florence Pugh returns as Yelena Belova along with Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent and finally Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster.
