Legendary Entertainment has partnered with Hasbro Entertainment to develop a Magic: The Gathering movie and TV universe. This comes after more than three decades since Wizards of the Coast debuted the popular trading card game created by Richard Garfield.
Legendary and Hasbro’s planned franchise will reportedly begin with a live-action movie. At the moment, the studios haven’t revealed the creative teams attached to the said projects. Besides Hasbro’s partnership with Legendary, the toy company is also developing a Magic: The Gathering animated series with Netflix. The show hails from writer and director Terry Matalas, who has been tapped as the showrunner.
