Apple TV+ is bringing together rapper Megan Thee Stallion and South Korean singer PSY together for a reality competition series named KPopped. It will be produced by CJENM and Eureka Productions. Moreover, the show is set to feature numerous Western and K-pop stars to come forward and battle.
Apple TV+ to bring KPopped series with Megan Thee Stallion and Psy
Megan Thee Stallion and “Gangnam Style” sensation PSY will collaborate on a new music battle series, which will air on Apple TV+ soon. Titled KPopped, it was announced by the streaming platform in a recent press release.
The series will have a total of 8 episodes. Apart from appearing in the show, Stallion will also feature as an executive producer. Furthermore, the series will feature various artists Western artists and K-pop stars facing off against each other.
As per the press release, the official synopsis of KPopped reads, “In each episode, western icons reimagine one of their biggest hits, collaborating with top-tier K-pop idols to deliver spectacular battle performances, with a live Seoul-based audience picking the winner of the best new K-popped song.”
Additionally, Megan Thee Stallion will perform her song “Savage” on the show. The press release also mentions that KPopped will be “executive produced by Moira Ross, Lionel Richie, Miky Lee, Megan Thee Stallion, and Greg Foster, alongside Harry H.K. Shin and Jake Hong, with producer Kiwoong Kim for CJ ENM Co., Ltd. Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening and David Tibballs executive produce for Eureka Productions (a Fremantle company), alongside Bruce Eskowitz.”
Apart from this, no other details regarding this reality music battle series have been unveiled by Apple TV+. The streaming platform has also not disclosed the line-up of artists who will face each other on KPopped. Albeit, there is currently no date of release scheduled for this competition series as it is in early development.
