Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore recently shared information about Denzel Washington’s role in Black Panther 3. The Oscar-winning actor earlier disclosed that Ryan Coogler was penning down a role for him in Black Panther 3. The sequel to 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently under development, with Coogler expected to return in the director’s seat.
Nate Moore teases Denzel Washington’s Black Panther 3 role
Nate Moore, a producer at Marvel Studios, was recently asked about Denzel Washington’s involvement in the upcoming Black Panther 3. While he was highly secretive about the specific role the Gladiator 2 actor would play, he did share that it would be from MCU canon.
Moore told Screen Rant, “If that manifests, which we’re gonna try, I think it will probably be somebody from canon. Who that is, is early days.” The producer, who is an active part of the development of Black Panther 3, disclosed that they “haven’t had really substantive creative conversations with Ryan, mostly because he’s finishing his film Sinners.”
Nate Moore further asserted that it was “too early” to reveal any more details regarding the project. Lauding Washington’s acting prowess, he added, “Obviously if an actor of the caliber of Denzel Washington wants in, we’re gonna figure out a way to make that happen.”
In November 2024, Denzel Washington revealed that Ryan Coogler was writing a role for him in Black Panther 3. However, as reported by SuperHeroHype earlier, in December 2024, the actor conveyed that he passed on an apology to the filmmaker for talking about Black Panther 3.
The Gladiator II actor said, “I called him and apologized for talking about the movie, and right there sitting with him was his beautiful wife. He’s still Ryan, humble and full of ideas. Whatever he writes, I’ll read.”
