In an interview with TV Insider, Rob Lowe teased about his return to the universe. He expressed that he is “open to anything” until it is not ruining the series’ legacy. The actor shared a similar opinion with Variety. He stated:

“It’s always a function of, what’s the story, what’s the script, who’s doing it, how good is the show? Is it a cheaper, wannabe version, or is it going to continue to have the kind of production value hallmarks that we’re really proud of, that we did on our show? Who knows? We’ll have to see what everything looks like.”

While Lowe’s statements have made fans excited about his return to the universe, it is up to the makers to crack new ideas. It will be interesting to see if Captain Strand appears in future spin-offs of 9-1-1 or not.
