Here’s Why Hulk Hogan Thinks Fans Booed Him at WWE Raw

Curious about why Hulk Hogan was booed at WWE Raw’s Netflix debut? Many fans were surprised by the reaction, but Hogan himself expected it. His history in Los Angeles and his political views reportedly played key roles in the crowd’s response.

Here’s everything Hogan said about the incident, his reasoning behind the boos, and how he reacted to the situation.

Hulk Hogan’s theory on why he was booed at LA’s WWE Raw event

Hulk Hogan recently addressed the boos he received at WWE Raw’s Netflix debut in Los Angeles. Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Hogan said he fully expected the reaction. When asked if it was due to his political views, Hogan acknowledged that politics played a role but also pointed to his past as Hollywood Hogan.

“Oh I did. yeah. Some of it the political stuff but you’ve got to remember the last time I ran hard in LA I was a bad guy,” Hogan said. “I was Hollywood Hogan, I was riding dirty with the boys you know Nash and Hall,”

The iconic wrestler continued, “We were spray painting people and crotch shotting everybody, so last time I was there I was a heel, but I think the politics had a whole lot to do with it, Iike you said.”

Hogan also highlighted the online engagement his appearance generated despite the boos. “At the end of the day, we kind of looked at it the next day and 11 billion impressions, and some of the other guys, some of the big stars that were on that night only had 3 billion. Not naming names but, you know hey, hate me some mo,” Hogan said.

The WWE star further explained that because of his partnership with WWE and the Real American brand, he had to remain a face during the segment. “I had to be a good guy in LA. Now if this was for wrestling and they turned on me like that? I would’ve turned into Hollywood Hulk Hogan,” Hogan said. “So you hate me for everything I’ve done for all the Make-A-Wish kids and everything I did for your kids? Well guess what, I did it for the money.”

Hogan then revealed what he wanted to say in character. “I hope you have a good time when Kamala Harris is your new governor and you’re all standing in the soup line, mic drop, see ya, but I couldn’t do that.”
