Neil Gaiman & Wife Sued Over Alleged Sexual Assault & Human Trafficking

Neil Gaiman and his wife, Amanda Palmer, are facing serious legal accusations in a lawsuit filed by their former babysitter, Scarlett Pavlovich. The lawsuit claims that Gaiman repeatedly assaulted Pavlovich during her time as a live-in nanny. She has also accused both him and Palmer of human trafficking.

Here is more about the lawsuit against Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer.

Neil Gaiman and his wife are being sued by their former babysitter, Scarlett Pavlovich. The lawsuit accuses Gaiman of repeatedly sexually assaulting Pavlovich while she worked as a live-in nanny for the couple in New Zealand. Pavlovich claims that Gaiman’s abuse included violent acts such as choking her, hitting her with a belt, and demanding she refer to him as “master.” (via Variety)

The lawsuit also mentions Palmer, alleging she was aware of Gaiman’s previous history of sexual misconduct when she hired Pavlovich. In addition, the couple is accused of human trafficking. The suit states, “Those acts were abusive and demeaning… Scarlett endured those acts because she would lose her job, housing, and promised future career support if she did not.”

These accusations against Neil Gaiman are not new. Last year, similar claims against Gaiman were raised in a Tortoise Media podcast, followed by a report from New York Magazine. It included testimonies from eight women, including Pavlovich. The women claim that some of their sexual acts with Gaiman were consensual. However, there were instances where BDSM and rough sex occurred without prior agreement. One woman even stated that Gaiman pressured her into sex in exchange for allowing her to stay on his property.

Gaiman has firmly denied these allegations. In a statement in his personal journal titled “Breaking the Silence,” he acknowledged his personal mistakes. However, Gaiman insisted that he had never engaged in non-consensual sex.
