Jey Uso has officially chosen his WrestleMania 41 opponent after winning the WWE Royal Rumble 2025. The former Intercontinental Champion delivered an incredible performance in this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match.
Entering at No. 20, Jey Uso lasted 36 minutes and 59 seconds in the ring, eliminating top stars like Shinsuke Nakamura, Sami Zayn, and John Cena. In the final moments, Jey and Cena were the last two competitors battling for the victory.
Many expected John Cena to emerge victorious, but Jey Uso shocked the WWE Universe by pulling off the upset and securing a championship match at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. With his Royal Rumble victory, Jey now gets to choose his title match, and he has made it clear that he wants to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41.

Jey Uso has faced Gunther three times before, with The Ring General emerging victorious in all their encounters. After the WWE Royal Rumble 2025, in a post-show interview, Jey was asked about his options following his Royal Rumble win.
He had recently lost to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event, but now had the opportunity to challenge either Gunther or Cody Rhodes for a world title. Jey Uso confirmed that he wants to challenge Gunther for the championship at WrestleMania 41.
While discussing his decision, Jey admitted that he focused on Gunther leading up to the Royal Rumble. Now, with his victory secured, he expressed a strong desire for another chance to defeat him. He stated:
“I don’t know, man. I would like one more crack at Gunther, and I really feel like I can beat Gunther.”
With Jey Uso making his intentions clear, it will be interesting to see how The Ring General responds to his challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41.
