However, their win wasn’t without cost, as the English giants lost center-back Radu Dragusin due to an injury. What happened to Radu Dragusin?
Radu Dragusin suffered from a knee injury during his side’s recent bout against Swedish outfit Elfsborg.
The match saw the much-awaited return of Mickey van de Ven to Spurs’ backline after an extended spell on the sidelines due to fitness issues. Nevertheless, Postecoglu decided to follow the cautionary route and replaced him with Dragusin right after halftime. The young center-back played for 20 minutes before going down on the ground following a tussle with opposing striker Jalal Abdullai. In the scuffle, Radu Dragusin ended up landing awkwardly on his knee, sustaining an injury. He was subsequently replaced by 20-year-old Dane Scarlett, who went on to open the scoring for his team.
Talking about Radu Dragusin’s unexpected injury, Postecoglu said, “Unfortunately Radu’s hurt his knee now. I don’t have any further information but it didn’t look good as he was coming off so we’ll just have wait and see but it’s disappointing,” as per Metro.
Despite the unfortunate development of his center-back, Postecoglu seemed to be pretty impressed with the performance of his young players. “It was made in Tottenham tonight. Brilliant for the club. I’m sure there are academy coaches who will go to sleep tonight pretty excited.”
With his knee issue, Radu Dragusin becomes the latest player to land on Tottenham Hotspur’s ever-expanding injury list. At the time of writing, the North London outfit is missing the services of defenders Djed Spence, Cristian Romero, and Destiny Udogie. Moreover, first-choice keeper Guglielmo Vicario, Wilson Odobert, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson, Dominic Solanke, and James Maddison are also out due to fitness concerns.
