Miss Scarlet was not pregnant in Season 5. She is also not pregnant as of the series premiere. However, Kate Phillips was pregnant with her second child.
Phillips was first revealed to be pregnant in July 2024. This was because of photos that surfaced on the web, courtesy of The Daily Mail. In these photos, Phillips was seen strolling through London.
These photos appeared two months after filming for Miss Scarlet Season 5 wrapped up in April. Phillips is pretty private about her personal life, including her relationship with Rivals star Oliver Chris, having only once offered a glimpse of it on social media, where she described her three-year-old daughter’s artistic talent, it’s unknown when she first got pregnant.
However, her second child was born in December 2024, as photos shared by Instinct PR showed Phillips and Chris attending a Moana-themed event with the baby and their daughter. Thus, it’s possible that Phillips was pregnant for at least a part of Series 5’s filming. It’s also likely that the crew managed to hide the pregnancy using special costuming techniques.
There is only one instance where Kate Phillips offers insight into her personal life besides the aforementioned social media post. This was in an interview with The Times. Here, she opened up about the birth of her first child and daughter, describing it as “extraordinary agony.”
