Are Courtney Ford and Brandon Routh divorcing?
Courtney Ford and Brandon Routh had some personal news to share while evacuating from their California home. The couple posted a joint statement on Instagram, revealing they have filed for divorce. “To everyone who has loved and supported us, we have some personal news to share. After 21 years together, and 17 years of marriage, we have decided to begin a new journey, and enter this next chapter of life as friends and co-parents,” the statement reads in part.
“We are now and forever rooting for each other as we move through this wild adventure called life,” the couple added. “Our son is, and will always be, our highest priority, and we appreciate your understanding as we navigate this transition. With love and gratitude, B&C.”
According to People, Ford filed for divorce in Los Angeles, referring to “irreconcilable differences” between the duo. Ford has reportedly requested joint legal and physical custody of their son, Leo James. Additionally, she asked for spousal support from her soon-to-be ex-husband.
Meanwhile, the couple’s statement also addressed the ongoing fire crisis in California. The caption of their post reads, “We were focused on grabbing our go-bags and evacuating yesterday.”
It further mentions, “We are safe but in shock and grief for our friends who have lost their homes and businesses. Our hearts break for our community devastated by the ongoing fires. We love you, Los Angeles.”
Ford and Routh tied the knot in Santa Barbara on November 24, 2007. The wedding included 125 friends and family members. The intimate wedding was picture-perfect. During an interaction with People, the Hollywood couple’s wedding planner, Katie Tiffany, shared, “You could feel the warmth and love.”
Although neither Ford nor Routh are extremely active on social media, their occasional posts about each other warmed fans’ hearts. Ford shared multiple Father’s Day post tributes to Arrow star. Routh kept up with the sweet acts with touching Mother’s Day captions.
Routh’s last Mother’s Day post was in 2023 when he wrote,”She’s a ride-or-die friend and a mom who’s all in.” The post further reads, “I’m so grateful that Leo has @courtneyfordhere, who jumps feet first into living, giving him permission and unconditional love to be fully himself.”
