Here’s everything you need to know regarding the distasteful remarks made by L.A. millionaire Keith Wasserman concerning the ongoing Palisades fire.

What did Keith Wasserman post about Palisades fire?

Keith Wasserman, who serves as the co-founder of real estate investment company Gelt Venture Partners, took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a bizarre request while the blaze continued to wreak havoc in the Southern California region.

Keith Wasserman, one of the most opulent millionaires in LA, leveraged the social media platform to convey an absurd message to firefighters in the region, offering them monetary compensation of their choice in exchange for protection for his luxury Palisades residence. The real estate mogul stated, “Does anyone have access to private firefighters to protect our home in Pacific Palisades? Need to act fast here. All neighbors houses burning. Will pay any amount. Thank you.”

The L.A. millionaire’s comments have generated a strong response from the public. Many criticize Keith Wasserman for his lack of empathy. One of the users, Sam Vance, called out the businessman for his blatant hypocrisy. Vance stated, “His family is evacuated and he’s trying to hire private firefighters to risk their lives to save a home he most certainly has insured. Incredibly tone deaf.” Wasserman has since deleted the original tweet from his account. (via New York Post)

Notably, private firefighting firms issued a mandate appealing to wealthy residents of California back in 2019. The offer allowed financially superior individuals to hire personal firefighters for a premium fee to protect their assets amidst the growing threat of fires in the area.
