What is In the Lost Lands about?
A description of the plot, per Deadline, reads, “The story centers on a queen who, desperate to fulfill her love, makes a daring play: she sends the powerful and feared sorceress Gray Alys (Jovovich) to the ghostly wilderness of the Lost Lands in search of a magical power, where the sorceress and her guide, the drifter Boyce (Bautista), must outwit and outfight man and demon…”
Anderson co-wrote the screenplay with Constantin Werner. Anderson is best known for making the first six live-action Resident Evil films with Jovovich, while his filmography also includes 1995’s Mortal Kombat, 1997’s Event Horizon, 1998’s Soldier, 2004’s Alien vs. Predator, 2008’s Death Race, 2011’s The Three Musketeers, 2014’s Pompeii, and 2020’s Monster Hunter.
Anderson also produces the movie alongside Jovovich, Bautista, Werner, Jeremy Bolt, Jonathan Meisner, and Robert Kulzer. Martin Moszkowicz, Nico Bruinsma, Kirk D’Amico, and Kevin Forester serve as executive producers.
“We’ve created a movie with a completely unique visual style and storytelling that uses cutting-edge technology to bring the story to life like never before,” Anderson previously said of the movie. “So, it was always important to me that it be seen on the big screen. That’s why I couldn’t be more thrilled that Vertical is bringing In the Lost Lands to American theaters.”
In the Lost Lands will be released in United States theaters on March 7, 2025, from Vertical.
