Amazon MGM Studios has officially announced the release of an upcoming Melania Trump documentary movie, which will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the First Lady. The untitled documentary is set to debut in both theaters and on Prime Video later this year.
“We are excited to share this unique story with our millions of customers around the world,” an Amazon spokesperson said in a press release.
Who’s involved in the Melania Trump documentary?
The documentary will be directed by RatPack Entertainment co-founder Brett Ratner. He’s best known for directing comedy movies such as the Rush Hour trilogy starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, the fantasy dramedy The Family Man with Nicolas Cage, the heist comedy After the Sunset with Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek, and the comedy Tower Heist starring Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy. This marks the first time he will be directing a documentary movie after previously producing docufilms like 2014’s Night Will Fall, 2015’s Chuck Norris vs Communism, and 2016’s Before the Flood.
The untitled project is also executive produced by Fernando Sulichin for New Element Media and Melania Trump. Production officially started in early December 2024. This comes after her husband Donald Trump won his re-election bid during the 2024 Presidential Elections last November 4. Before this, the First Lady also published a self-titled memoir last October 8, in which she talked about her childhood in Slovenia, her modeling career, her meeting with her husband, and her experience becoming the First Lady during Donald Trump’s first term in office.
