The Good Daughter Cast Finds Jessica Biel’s Replacement for Peacock Drama

The Good Daughter cast has found its replacement for Jessica Biel in the upcoming Peacock drama series and has also added to the cast of the series.

According to a recent report from THR, both Meghann Fahy and Rose Byrne will star in the project, with Fahy reportedly set to play the role that Biel was originally set to. The series was announced earlier this year with Biel attached, but she departed the project in September for unknown reasons.

What do we know about The Good Daughter?

The Good Daughter is based on a novel by Karin Slaughter, who will also write every episode of the series. The project was given a straight-to-series order at Peacock earlier this year and follows the story of two sisters, Charlotte (Fahy) and Samantha Quinn (Byrne), who are trying to recover from an incident decades ago when an attack in their small town throws them both into another mystery.

Byrne most recently starred in 2023’s Insidious: The Red Door and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, as well as the comedy-drama Ezra. Up next for her is a role in the comedy-drama If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, as well as a role in Tow, a drama by Stephanie Laing. Fahy is best known for her role in the second season of the hit HBO series The White Lotus and will next appear opposite Josh O’Connor in the drama film Rebuilding.

“The Good Daughter is a suspenseful crime drama where sisters Charlotte (Fahy) and Samantha Quinn have spent the last twenty-eight years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence,” reads the show‘s synopsis. “When another attack splinters the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte is the first witness on the scene. Now a lawyer like her father, she’s forced to confront her own demons as the case twists through one shocking revelation after another. In the end, both she and Samantha find themselves wondering if the price of being the good daughter was worth it after all.”
