What Does Mariah May Really Think About Toni Storm’s AEW Transformation?

Toni Storm and Mariah May ignited one of the most memorable feuds in AEW’s women’s division this year. May stunned fans by betraying her best friend Storm after winning the Owen Hart Cup. Following the betrayal, May set her sights on Storm’s AEW Women’s titles.

At AEW All Out, the former best friends clashed for the Women’s Championship. Mariah May defeated Toni Storm to claim the AEW Women’s Championship, ending Storm’s impressive 281-day reign. After her shocking loss, Storm stepped away from AEW but made a surprise return at AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming on 11th December.

Fans were excited to see “Timeless” Toni Storm back. However, Storm surprised everyone by adopting her old Rockstar persona. This version of Storm’s character seems unaware of her AEW history and believes she is making her debut in Tony Khan’s promotion.

Storm’s former friend and the current AEW Women’s Champion, Mariah May, reacted to Storm’s transformation, stating she “destroyed her” after taking the title.

AEW Women’s Champion Mariah May on Toni Storm’s dramatic new persona

AEW Women’s Champion Mariah May recently appeared on the Niko Knows Best podcast and discussed her impact on the women’s division. She emphasized her dominance in AEW, pointing out how she dethroned Toni Storm. She stated, “Look at what I did to Toni Storm. Toni Storm was the face of our division, she would honestly be the face of the company if it wasn’t for me, and what I did to her, I destroyed her.”

May explained that she had always admired Toni Storm but she also made it clear that she used Storm to her advantage. She stated, “I have no relationship with Toni Storm. Mina [Shirakawa], I love, we’re still friends, I love Mina, I gave her a chance, she couldn’t get the job done which I’m not surprised. But Toni is not my friend, she’s never been my friend, and she never will be my friend.”

This weekend at AEW Worlds End, Mariah May will defend her Women’s Championship against Thunder Rosa in a Tijuana Street Fight. While May continues to boast about her actions against Storm, it seems only a matter of time before the two former best friends cross paths once again.
