Here’s everything you need to learn about the cancelation or the renewal of the third season of Squid Game.
Is Squid Game canceled or renewed for Season 3?
Netflix has already renewed Squid Game for Season 3, which will be the end of the beloved series.
Earlier this summer, the streaming giant gave fans exciting news that the globally popular series would be back for Season 3 as well. The series is slated for a 2025 release with an unspecified date. Given that both Season 1 and Season 2 premiered in Q4, Season 3 can also be expected to release during a similar time frame.
The news about Season 3 broke when director and writer Hwang Dong-hyuk released a heartfelt letter to fans. He extended his gratitude to fans for consistently supporting and loving the series while also touching on the future.
He wrote, “I am beyond excited to be writing this letter to announce the date for Season 2 and share the news of Season 3, the final season. The fierce clash between [Gi-hun and Front Man’s] two worlds will continue into the series finale with Season 3, which will be brought to you next year.” (via Netflix)
The third season is slated to continue the themes of revenge established in its predecessors. However, no confirmed storyline has been revealed as of now.
Fans can look forward to Season 2, with all episodes dropping on December 26.
