Though sidelined due to diverticulitis, Omega briefly returned to AEW in May, when he came face to face with Kazuchika Okada. However, he was attacked by Jack Perry and The Young Bucks, who delivered an EVP Trigger. Following the brutal attack, he was stretchered out of the arena.
Omega spent the whole year recovering from severe diverticulitis. However, he is now set to return to the ring for a match against NJPW’s Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5. This show will feature talents from NJPW, AEW, STARDOM, CMLL, and Ring of Honor.
On the latest edition of AEW Dynamite, a backstage video of Omega’s return was aired, hyping up his comeback. It was later mentioned that he would return to Tony Khan’s promotion after his match with Gabe Kidd. However, recent reports suggest that Omega could appear in All Elite Wrestling sooner than expected.
