Dune: Prophecy Season 2 Set at HBO, Showrunner Gives Statement

Dune: Prophecy Season 2 is a go at HBO.

The first season of Dune: Prophecy premiered in November 2024. The HBO series, which is a prequel to the Denis Villeneuve Dune movies, comes from showrunner Alison Schapker and stars Emily Watson as Mother Superior Valya Harkonnen and Olivia Williams as Reverend Mother Tula Harkonnen.

With the Dune: Prophecy Season 1 finale airing this coming Sunday, HBO has now announced that the show will return for a second season.

What did Alison Schapker say about Dune: Prophecy Season 2?

Speaking during a press conference on Thursday, December 19, 2024, attended by ComingSoon, Schapker said, “I am thrilled to be able to announce that HBO is picking us up for a Season 2. We are so thrilled and grateful for their support, for our partners at Legendary, and, most of all, that we get to continue working with these extraordinary people in front of the camera, behind the camera, that we get to keep telling this story that we care so deeply about, and get to continue building out our corner of the Dune universe. That is our very exciting news.”

Max’s Sarah Aubrey also said, “Dune: Prophecy has captivated audiences around the globe thanks to the visionary leadership of showrunner and executive producer Alison Schapker, who will continue to guide this grand tale of truth and power. A premiere date for Dune: Prophecy Season 2 has not yet been announced. The first five episodes of Dune: Prophecy Season 1 are now streaming on Max, while the season finale airs on December 22, 2024.
