Twisters actor, Glen Powell was officially announced as the leading man for Homewreckers last week. The upcoming sci-fi erotic thriller came in a package deal, with Powell also set to produce it. But now, following a bidding war, Homewreckers has possibly found a studio that it could call its home.
Legendary wins the bidding war for Glen Powell-led Homewreckers
The movie recently was part of a bidding war, which saw many big production houses going against each other to bag the rights to the movie.
However, The Hollywood Reporter disclosed that Legendary Entertainment, known for their Monsterverse movies, has become the top contender to land the deal. Homewreckers is based on the three-chapter story written by writer Neil M Paik, who is also leading the scriptwriting process. He will also accompany Powell as a producer. At present, the movie is in its initial stages and no details about its plot have been revealed yet.
As per sources close to THR, the Homewreckers package deal when completed, will bring in a hefty seven-figure sum for Paik as the writer and producer. Additionally, Legendary is set to pay another seven-figure sum for the rights to the story. While Legendary is leading the bidding war, the other studios that were a part of the race to acquire Homewreckers include Warner Bros, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Lionsgate, and New Regency.
Glen Powell, however, has not made any comments on Homewreckers recently. The actor has been having a blast since 2023 on the movie scene. As a leading man, Powell attained immense success with Anyone But You. He then went on to give hits like Hit Man and Twisters.
Recently, rumors spread that Powell might be replacing Tom Cruise in the future Mission Impossible movies. However, as covered by ComingSoon earlier, he shut down the rumors while talking to Pat McAfee in an interview. Powell said, “My mom would never let me do that. That’s a death trap.”
