Wednesday Season 2: No, Lady Gaga’s First Look Image Is Not Real

A viral image is circulating online reimagining Lady Gaga‘s look of Wednesday Season 2, drawing suspicions about its legitimacy. Earlier, it was announced that the ‘Bloody Mary’ singer would play an undisclosed part in the Netflix series. Following this, some outlets released a gothic image of Gaga, claiming it to be the first glimpse from the series. So, is the image real or fake? Here are all the details.

Is Lady Gaga’s first look image from Wednesday Season 2 real or fake?

Lady Gaga’s first-look image from Wednesday Season 2 is fake and AI-generated.

Wednesday 2 first glimpse features Lady Gaga sporting a gothic attire and headband, looking straight into the screen. The viral image first appeared on Netflix Updates Facebook page, which claims to be a fan page keeping others posted on updates related to the streaming service’s movies and series. Gamurs Inc. appears to be responsible for the page’s content. The company has several known brands, including The Mary Sue and The Escapist.

Upon uploading the image on December 13, the post received massive fan attention, garnering over 80k likes to date. Generally, Netflix is the first one to share the first look of the respective series and films. Given that this image didn’t come through Netflix, it’s not genuine. The image more likely also appears to be AI-generated, further debunking its claim of the official first look.

Lady Gaga and Jenna Ortega-led series had shared a special connection in Season 1. Ortega’s dance on “Goo Goo Muck,” which many users replaced with Gaga’s Bloody Mary for edits, certainly broke the internet. The dance went so viral that it eventually became a trend, with many creators recreating it and receiving lots of views on various social media platforms.

Last month, Entertainment Weekly announced that Gaga would join the Wednesday Season 2 roster in an undisclosed role. The outlet also claimed that she was likely filming the series in Europe. However, neither Netflix nor Gaga has given any official word on her appearance on Wednesday 2.
