Former WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley has made a huge announcement following Saturday Night’s Main Event. In October, Ripley was taken out by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez during an edition of WWE NXT.
Ahead of Survivor Series: WarGames, Ripley returned and challenged Liv Morgan’s team to a WarGames match. Morgan’s team featured Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, Raquel Rodriguez, and Candice LeRae. Meanwhile, Ripley’s team featured Bianca Belair, Bayley, Naomi, and Iyo Sky.
Ripley secured the win by delivering a Riptide from the top rope through a table and pinning Morgan. After her victory at WarGames, many believed Ripley would immediately target Morgan’s title. However, she made it clear she would wait for Sky to challenge Morgan first while still hinting at her intentions to pursue the championship soon.
At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Liv Morgan defeated Iyo Sky to retain her title. After the match, Ripley confronted Morgan, signaling her intentions to challenge for the championship. On the latest edition of RAW, Ripley confirmed herself as the new number one contender for Morgan’s WWE Women’s World title.
Rhea Ripley earns shot at Liv Morgan’s WWE Women’s World Championship
On RAW, Liv Morgan, joined by Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez, celebrated her recent victory. She grabbed a megaphone and declared herself the greatest Women’s World Champion of all time, proclaiming that this was the “Year of Monday Night Morgan” and they were just getting started.
The celebration was interrupted by former WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, who made her way to the ring. Ripley announced that it was time to settle things once and for all. She revealed that WWE official Adam Pearce had made it official: Ripley is now the number one contender for Morgan’s title.
Ripley warned Morgan that when they finally face off, it will mark the end of the latter’s championship reign. With Morgan holding the title for over 200 days, the question remains: Will Ripley be the one to dethrone her?
