Katie Holmes recently set the record straight about her daughter, Suri, after a report disseminated false information about her. The report mentioned that she has now become a millionaire due to her father Tom Cruise’s trust fund. However, Holmes has strongly criticized the outlet The Daily Mail for spreading this misinformation and has she been supported by fans for doing so.
Here’s what Holmes said about the outlet’s trust fund claims.
Katie Holmes slams report about Suri’s trust fund
Holmes recently took to her Instagram account to slam The Daily Mail for spreading misinformation about her daughter Suri. In the post, she shared a screenshot of the outlet’s article, which claimed her daughter is now a millionaire due to a trust fund. The title read, “Suri Cruise the millionaire! Tom Cruise’s trust fund has ‘kicked in’ and mom Katie Holmes has one for her too.”
She debunked the report, writing over a screenshot of the article “Completely false, Daily Mail you can stop making stuff up.” Her caption ended simply with, “Enough.”
Since her post went up, many fans have taken to the comments section to praise her for debunking the false report. Many fans pointed out that not many celebrities debunk false reports, which is necessary for not allowing more rumors to spread.
Holmes and Cruise initially sparked dating rumors when they were spotted together on a Europe trip in 2005. Shortly, after seeing each other for a couple of months, they got engaged. The following year, they welcomed their daughter. In the same year, they got married too.
After remaining married for almost five years, their relationship ended. Holmes ultimately filed a divorce in 2012.
