Focus Features has announced the Conclave Peacock release date for the upcoming streaming debut of its latest mystery thriller drama starring Oscar nominee Ralph Fiennes. This comes after more than a month since the film had its U.S. theatrical release.
“The film follows one of the world’s most secretive and ancient events – selecting the new pope. Cardinal Lawrence is tasked with running this covert process after the unexpected death of the beloved Pope,” reads the synopsis. “Once the Catholic Church’s most powerful leaders have gathered from around the world and are locked together in the Vatican halls, Lawrence uncovers a trail of deep secrets left in the dead Pope’s wake, secrets which could shake the foundations of the Church.”
When is the Conclave Peacock release date?
Conclave will be available for streaming starting on December 13, exclusively on Peacock. Since making its world premiere at the 51st Telluride Film Festival, the film has been receiving positive reviews from critics. It currently has a Certified Fresh rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 258 reviews.
Conclave was directed by All Quiet on the Western Front’s Edward Berger from a screenplay written by Peter Straughan, based on Robert Harris’ best-selling novel. Joining Fiennes are Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, Carlos Diehz, Lucian Msamati, Brían F. O’Byrne, Merab Ninidze, Sergio Castellitto, and Isabella Rossellini. It was executive produced by Steven Rales, Glen Basner, Alison Cohen, Milan Popelka, Ben Browning, Len Blavatnik, Danny Cohen, Zoe Edwards, Harry Dixon, Paul Randle, Tomas Alfredson, Edward Berger, Ralph Fiennes, Peter Straughan, Robyn Slovo, Mario Gianani, and Lorenzo Gangarossa.
