Will Longmire Season 7 happen after leaving Netflix?
As of now, Longmire Season 7 has not been renewed after leaving Netflix.
As fans are aware, Longmire premiered on June 3, 2012, on A&E. The show was a massive success among viewers and also received largely positive reviews from critics, with praise mostly directed towards the performances and writing.
However, in August 2014, the network announced that they wouldn’t renew Longmire for a fourth season. Thus, the series was open to other networks and Netflix ended up bagging its online streaming rights.
On September 10, 2015, Longmire Season 4 began streaming on Netflix leaving fans rejoiced and was further renewed for a fifth and sixth installment. After two years, the series came to an end on November 17, 2017. Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for a Season 7 to arrive on the platform.
However, the show is now slated to leave Netflix as well. As per What’s On Netflix, all six seasons of the series will be taken down from the platform on January 1, 2025. However, the good news is that the show was moved to Paramount Plus before the shift.
While fans are looking forward to Season 7, Craig Johnson, the author whose books have inspired the show, dropped an exciting post on Instagram and Facebook. ”I hear its been picked up by Paramount+ and I’m just curious to see if Warner Brothers, now free from the sweetheart deal with Netflix, will finally consider reviving the show… Interesting times.”
While Johnson’s post raises hopes, fans will need to wait for an official announcement about the future of Longmire.
