Dustin Phillips is a schoolteacher who has also worked as a driver. He was also Lulu Spencer’s boyfriend following her split from Dante Falconeri.
Dustin first met Lulu when she had been working on a story about apprehending a criminal who used dating apps to lure women away from their homes and rob them. While their meeting seemed like a date, Lulu confessed it wasn’t the case, which Dustin understood.
Lulu and Dustin then crossed paths at a restaurant after she caused him to spill his drink on his shirt accidentally. She apologized, and Dustin joined her and Maxie Jones for drinks, where he talked about his professional life. Maxie then left to allow Lulu and Dustin to get acquainted. Dustin died on November 23 after succumbing to injuries he sustained from an explosion at the Floating Rib three days prior. This explosion had been caused by Julian Jerome, who had been ordered to kill Jason Morgan by Cyrus Renault. Prior to his demise, he attempted to propose to Lulu Spencer at the Floating Rib.
Before dying, Dustin made Dante promise to take care of Lulu and told him to give her the engagement ring.
