What to expect in Little Disasters on Paramount+?
“When Jess takes her baby daughter to hospital with a head injury that she can’t explain, her close friend and on-duty A&E doctor Liz must make the excruciating decision of whether to call social services on her longtime friend,” the official synopsis reads. “This decision sets in motion a chain of events that show how one moment can fracture and nearly destroy entire families and friendships.”
Besides Kruger, Little Disasters stars Jo Joyner as Liz, Shelley Conn as Charlotte, Emily Taaffe as Mel, JJ Feild as Ed, Ben Bailey as Nick, and Stephen Campbell Moore as Rob.
Little Disasters was adapted for the screen by Ruth Fowler and Amanda Duke. Executive producers include Vaughan, Ash Atalla, Alex Smith, Marianna Abbotts, and Simon Judd. Myf Hopkins is the producer and Eva Sigurdardottir is the director. The series is produced by Roughcut Television in association with Fremantle.
“Attaching Diane allowed me to explore sides of Jess’ character in deeper ways than I had anticipated,” Sigurdardottir told Deadline. “Little Disasters is a story of a warm and loving mother who is hiding a dark secret, and Diane navigated that character so elegantly, with relatable and warm performances, as well as truly haunting and thrilling moments.”
Vaughan also wrote Anatomy of a Scandal, a thriller adapted into a Netflix TV series by David E. Kelley and Melissa James Gibson.
Little Disasters does not have a release date.
