Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence Suffers Concussion vs. Texans

Trevor Lawrence’s game against the Houston Texans took a concerning turn when the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback was ruled out due to an injury. The concussion occurred in the first half and raised questions about his well-being. So, how did Trevor Lawrence get injured?

In this article, we will delve into the details of Trevor Lawrence’s injury.

How did Trevor Lawrence get injured?

Trevor Lawrence, the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, was ruled out of the match against the Houston Texans, which the Jaguars lost 23-20, after sustaining a serious injury in the first half. The concussion occurred following an illegal hit from Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair while Lawrence was sliding after a 6-yard scramble. The impact left Lawrence visibly shaken and a scuffle broke out between the teams. This resulted in Al-Shaair’s ejection from the game. Along with Al-Shaair, Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones was also told to leave the game due to his role in the altercation. Meanwhile, tight end Evan Engram was given a 15-yard penalty because of his unnecessary roughness in the game.

After the hit, Lawrence was attended to by medical staff for several minutes. He had to be carted off the field. The concussion led The Jaguars to quickly rule their key player out for the rest of the game.

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson criticized the hit and said, “It’s a play that has no business in our league.” Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans also expressed regret and stated that it wasn’t Al-Shaair’s usual play style. “It’s not representative of who Azeez is,” he added. When Lawrence was off the field, quarterback Mac Jones stepped in. (via NFL)

When will Trevor Lawrence return to play for NFL?

The exact timeline of Trevor Lawrence’s return to the field is uncertain after suffering from a concussion. Coach Doug Pederson confirmed Lawrence is in concussion protocol. He also reassured that Lawrence is “going to be fine.” After missing two matches for a shoulder injury, Lawrence’s future availability depends on how he progresses through the protocol.
