Fortnite players enjoying the release of Chapter 6 Season 1 recently discovered that the ‘Ready Up‘ button that allowed them to re-queue and gear up for the next match was not working. Moreover, the problem has also forced them to exit the game and re-enter it if they wished to play another match. This has frustrated them, and they are wondering why the button isn’t working. Is there a Fortnite ‘Ready Up’ button fix? What has Epic Games said about the new Fortnite issue?
Here is everything we have uncovered on the situation.
Why Fortnite’s ‘Ready Up’ button isn’t working and when will it be fixed?
Fortnite’s ‘Ready Up‘ button isn’t working because Epic Games has disabled it.
This is because the game developer was working on an issue. They confirmed this on X (Twitter) when asked by a fan about the same. However, they mentioned that the button’s disablement was temporary. Here, they also shared a link to their official Trello board that details the status of the issue’s fixing. According to the Trello board, it’s still “In Development.”
Epic Games recently released another statement addressing the issue and also confirmed that the ‘Ready Up’ button would return in a future Fortnite update.
Ultimately, players have no choice but to use the ‘Return to Lobby’ option if they die in or exit a match and wish to re-queue.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 brings a whole host of new things and features to the game. These include:
- A seasonal battle pass consisting of eight skins, two of which are collaborations. The collaboration skins are Baymax and Godzilla.
- New weapons like the Fury Assault Rifle, Twinfire Auto Shotgun, and Surgefire SMG
- Special masks named Oni Masks, which offer players multiple abilities
- A new map resembling historical Japan, which includes 18 new locations like Whiffy Wharf, Demon’s Dojo, Lost Lake, and Foxy Floodgate.
- Four new parkour moves:
- Ledge jump
- Roll landing
- Wall kick
- Wall scramble
- Hitscan weapons – Weapons no longer need a physics simulation when traveling across an island to hit targets. Firing guns will hit a target as long as the game registers the on-target aim.
