As seen in the previous episodes, the Lioness team led by Joe found some children in the warehouse during their mission against Mexican human traffickers. The team decided to put in all the efforts to save the children but a shocking twist took place. A suicide bomber from the traffickers triggers an explosion which ends up killing the children. However, Joe manages to survive the explosion but realizes she has suffered a critical injury.

She finds out that there is a gunshot wound on her body and calls Kaitlyn for help. Joe suspected that the bullet might have affected her lungs. The co-pilot then performed an emergency surgery using needle decompression. However, Joe’s unconsiousness and Kaitlyn’s worry at the end of the sixth episode concerned the viewers who were eager to learn if Joe might die or survive the fatal incident.

The latest episode cleared all the confusion and showed that Joe did not die in Lioness Season 2. In fact, Joe returned for the mission irrespective of the doctor’s advice to take a rest. She is eager to resume her work especially after what she witnessed on the Mexican border.

Kaitlyn advised her to stay at the desk and not return to the field. While Joe was adamant about taking the lead in the mission, Byron told her that she could only observe and advise.
