Liv Morgan Shares Her Honest Thoughts on WWE’s Infamous Storyline

The WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan has cemented herself as one of the top stars in the promotion. This year, fans have watched her rise to the top through her captivating storyline with Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio.

In the summer, Morgan’s storyline became one of the most discussed and entertaining in WWE, second only to The Bloodline angle. The drama hit its peak at WWE SummerSlam when Dominik Mysterio helped Morgan defeat Rhea Ripley.

The story continues to thrive. Recently, Rhea Ripley returned to action after brutally attacking Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez last month on NXT. Ripley’s team is now set to clash with Morgan’s team this weekend in a WarGames match at Survivor Series: WarGames.

While Liv Morgan basks in her current success, WWE once placed her in a surprising but short-lived storyline. In 2019, former WWE Superstar Lana, now known as CJ Perry, was involved in a controversial angle with Bobby Lashley and Rusev. The story saw Lana leaving her husband, Rusev, for Lashley.

On the infamous December 30 2019 episode of WWE RAW, Lana and Lashley’s wedding took center stage. However, Morgan crashed the ceremony, shocking fans by declaring that Lana was the love of her life. Chaos ensued as Morgan and Lana brawled, and Rusev burst out of a giant cake to attack Lashley.

Despite the dramatic twist in the storyline, WWE abandoned the storyline without further progression. Recently, Morgan shared her thoughts on this angle, reflecting on what could have been.

Liv Morgan on Lana Storyline: ‘I wish we’d done more with it’

Liv Morgan recently spoke with Inside the Ropes magazine, where she reflected on the abandoned storyline involving her and Lana. Morgan shared fond memories of the wedding crasher segment, considering it one of her standout moments in WWE.

Morgan revealed that she had no knowledge of any long-term plans for the storyline. She explained that she was fully invested in the moment. She stated, “So I was really in it for the ride. I had no idea. I wish we’d done more with it.”

After WWE dropped the storyline in 2020, Bobby Lashley joined forces with MVP and left Lana behind. Rusev moved to AEW, now known as Miro. In the meantime, Liv Morgan climbed the ranks, capturing the Women’s Championship in 2022. Now, in 2024, Morgan has solidified herself as one of WWE’s top stars.
