Despite not reprising her role as Helen Shivers in I Know What You Did Last Summer 3, franchise vet Sarah Michelle Gellar has shared the first set photo, confirming that production on Sony Pictures’ third installment has officially started.
In a recent interview, Gellar confirmed that she won’t be returning for the threequel since her character will remain dead. However, due to her closeness to director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, she teased that she would somehow still have an unofficial part in the project.
“My best friend [Jennifer Kaytin Robinson] is directing it, so we joke that I have an unofficial job, which is I am continuity,” she said. “So I’m always the one telling her, ‘Well, that would happen, or that wouldn’t happen with those characters,’ so I do have kind of an unofficial job title.”
