Peacemaker Season 2 Wraps Filming, James Gunn Gives Statement

Peacemaker Season 2 has wrapped filming.

Peacemaker Season 2 will see John Cena reprise his role as Christopher Smith. James Gunn serves as the showrunner on the new season, which will be set in the forthcoming DCU.

On X, Gunn announced that Peacemaker Season 2 had officially finished production.

What did James Gunn say about Peacemaker Season 2?

“And that is a WRAP on #Peacemaker season 2, including our last remaining actors Steve Agee, Tim Meadows, Sol Rodriguez & Brandon Stanley (& our DP Sam McCurdy pictured here moments after the last shot),” Gunn wrote. “Thanks to our entire cast & crew who made this a wonderful experience. My relief to have a break from shooting after ten months straight is countered by how much I’ll miss all of you!”

Just a couple of days earlier, on November 23, 2024, Gunn announced that Cena and Jennifer Holland, who plays Emilia Harcourt in the series, had finished filming their scenes.

“And that’s a #Peacemaker Season Two wrap on @JohnCena & @jennlholland, who both turned in wonderful performances this season as Christopher Smith and Emilia Harcourt,” he wrote. “To top it off, shooting yesterday was one of the most fun days of shooting I have EVER had! Thanks to the incredible people of Savannah, Georgia for making the Peacemaker crew’s stay here so special. ONE DAY LEFT!”

Plot details for Peacemaker Season 2 remain under wraps at this time; although, Gunn has said that the new season will address the DCU continuity as the first season was technically set within the DCEU.

The cast of Peacemaker’s second season also includes Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr.

Peacemaker Season 2 will premiere on Max in August 2025. The season will have a total of eight episodes.
